POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resource services, polices, and programs for Meridian Power Group, a small sized company of 1-50 employees.  They will oversee the coordination of employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, compensation, training, succession planning, leadership support and staffing activities to maximize employee resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Recruiting and staffing - Assist the Marketing Director with developing a superior workforce. Establishes and leads the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce. Interviews management and executive position candidates.
  2. Employee relations – Is responsible for the development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention/development and high performance. Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are bought forth. Lead the implementation of company safety and health programs. Monitors the tracking of OSHA – required data. Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company.
  3. HR administration – Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments.
  4. Development of the Human Resources department – Leads the development of department goals, objectives and systems. Provides leadership for Human Resources strategic planning. Establishes HR departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the MPG strategic goals.
 
 
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in HR, Business or Organization Development, from an accredited educational institution. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions.

Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement and employee development, preferred.

Demonstrate the ability to lead and develop HR department staff members.

Demonstrate the ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.

Excellent organizational management skills.

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information systems (HRIS).

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing and Business Development Manager is responsible for providing expert advice, support and planning for developing and administering high-profile marketing initiatives, programs and projects relating to business recruitment and development. Primary responsibilities include: domestic and international business attraction; directing advertising and marketing activities including branding, strategic research, writing, presenting, creative development and production of advertising and placement; developing, negotiating and implementing promotions and sponsorships for integrated regional advertising campaigns and cooperative programs. Work is subject to irregular hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays), sometimes on short notice. Manage MPG accounts on social media sites, i.e. Twitter, Facebook etc… Develop prospects from current customers. Prepare forms and agreements to complete staffing contracts and terms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Communication – Excellent oral and written communication skills required with the general public, management, public officials, business owners, media, business developers, marketing executives, and other support professionals. Prepares written documents such as reports, detailed analytical documents, reports, media releases, department newsletters and correspondence in response to inquiries about departmental issues. Determine customers’ service needs and prepare proposals to employ MPG services that address those needs.
  2. Travel - Operates a motor vehicle to travel to various locations to give presentations and attend meetings with prospective clients. Will setup and manage exhibits at special events, trade shows and conferences.
  3. Direct marketing – Utilize theories and principles of high-profile marketing campaigns, sales, advertising, social media, promotion and public relation techniques to endorse MPG products and services.
 
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, Economic Development or closely related field.

7-9 years of progressively responsible experience directing and implementing initiatives in economic development, business attraction, tourism, marketing, public relations, or a field related to the program area.

Must have experience in IT industry

Senior-level management and supervisory experience highly desirable.

Must have a valid GA driver’s license.

Must be self-motivated, confident, resourceful, a team player who uses sound judgment. Must prioritize own work.
